Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Start Date: October 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate) Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Employer: Veritas Education (on behalf of a partner secondary school)
About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology (DT) Teacher for a full-time, long-term position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and innovative DT department where creativity, practical skills, and problem-solving are actively encouraged. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop technical knowledge and practical skills while fostering a passion for design and innovation.
Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Construction, or Graphics (depending on specialism)
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Differentiate learning to support students of varying abilities
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Promote safe working practices within workshops and practical environments
- Contribute to departmental development and enrichment activities
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and practical skills
- Has excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Is passionate about inspiring creativity and innovation in young people
- Committed to raising attainment and supporting student success
- ECTs are encouraged to apply
