Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our vibrant and supportive school community in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment that values professional development, collaboration, and pupil wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and pupil progress
  • Use formative and summative assessment to monitor and support pupil achievement
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
  • Support pupils with SEND, EAL, and other additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
  • Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils
  • Reflect on practice and engage with the ECT induction programme
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential for teaching in UK state schools
  • Completion of Initial Teacher Training (PGCE, SCITT, School Direct, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and current educational practices
  • Experience teaching during placements, with evidence of pupil progress
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
  • Desirable Skills & Attributes

  • Enthusiastic, reflective, and eager to grow professionally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and pastoral responsibilities
  • Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school life
