Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our vibrant and supportive school community in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment that values professional development, collaboration, and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and pupil progress
- Use formative and summative assessment to monitor and support pupil achievement
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
- Support pupils with SEND, EAL, and other additional needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils
- Reflect on practice and engage with the ECT induction programme
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential for teaching in UK state schools
- Completion of Initial Teacher Training (PGCE, SCITT, School Direct, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and current educational practices
- Experience teaching during placements, with evidence of pupil progress
- Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
Desirable Skills & Attributes
- Enthusiastic, reflective, and eager to grow professionally
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and pastoral responsibilities
- Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school life
