Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning, fostering a nurturing classroom environment, and supporting pupils' academic and emotional development. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum.
- Use a range of phonics strategies to support early reading and writing development.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress using formative and summative methods.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress meetings and reports.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing.
- Contribute to the wider school life, including assemblies, trips, and extracurricular activities.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in KS1.
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Proven ability to raise standards and support pupil progress.
- Experience with phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds).
Desirable Skills & Experience- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Familiarity with restorative behaviour approaches or emotion coaching.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Ability to lead a subject area or mentor Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
