Veritas are currently looking for a Secondary SEN Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a specialist SEN school based in the North Leeds area.
This SILC based provision in Leeds is looking for an experienced Secondary HLTA (KS3/4) for a temporary to permanent position, starting Monday 10th January 2022.
Secondary SEN HLTA- Leeds, West Yorkshire - Leeds, West Yorkshire - January 2022 start - £85 - £100 per day (Depending on experience) - 'Good school with Outstanding features' - Full time position - Temporary to Permanent Position
HLTA Role - Information:
You will be working with children in the secondary classroom setting who have varying special educational needs, including ASD, PMLD, MLD and Speech and language difficulties. The school is looking for a candidate who has experience working within an SEN setting before.
As an SEN HLTA you will be required to support the class teacher when it comes to delivering the lesson content of various subjects. You will help deliver specific lesson plans to certain children or small groups, provide PPA across different subjects and be a vital part of children's school progression plans.
Throughout this role, you will not only be helping deliver subject/lesson content, but also supporting the KS3.4 students access their education, this will be done by meeting the needs of each child, providing appropriate supporting for children with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other educational needs, and through managing challenging behaviour at time.
The secondary SEN site has a range of different ability classes with varying needs, in an average class, there will be 1-3 support staff, including an HLTA and the class teacher, with children numbers ranging from 6-10 per class. This may vary depending on the needs of the class and the academic level the children are working at.
