About the Role
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Preston is seeking a committed General Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development across the primary age range.
Working alongside the class teacher, you will help deliver engaging lessons, provide small-group support, and contribute to creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Work with pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and displays
- Help maintain positive behaviour and promote a supportive learning environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Contribute to the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
Requirements
- Experience working with children (school, tutoring, nursery, or similar)
- A positive, proactive, and caring approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting primary-aged learners
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
