Location: Preston, Lancashire Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
Veritas Education is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a welcoming primary school based in Preston. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with identified SEND needs
- Adapt learning materials to suit individual requirements
- Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Monitor the pupil's progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs)
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
