Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / PPA Cover - Full Time
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality teaching and learning support across the school, including delivering planned lessons during teachers' PPA time, supporting pupil progress, and contributing to the overall development of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups during teachers' PPA time.
- Ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following the school's behaviour policy.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups and pupils with SEND.
Assessment & Feedback- Mark work and provide constructive feedback in line with school policy.
- Assist in assessing pupil attainment and contribute to planning for future learning.
Safeguarding & Pastoral Care- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Support pupils' social and emotional development, acting as a positive role model.
Professional Duties- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure continuity of learning.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- HLTA Status (Higher Level Teaching Assistant Certificate) OR
- Fully Qualified Teacher (QTS).
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training and Enhanced DBS Check/ willingness to get one.
Desirable Experience
- Experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
- Familiarity with assessment and feedback processes.
Hours & Contract
- Full-Time Monday - Friday 8:30 - 3:30

- Experience
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, ideally in a primary setting. Ability to deliver pre-planned lessons across multiple subjects and classes.
- Qualifications
