Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a nurturing primary school environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support and a passion for helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with specific learning, behavioural or emotional needs.
- Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Support the pupil's engagement in classroom activities and promote independence.
- Use strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Liaise closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
- Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Preferable Experience
- Previous experience in a 1:1 TA role or supporting children with SEN.
- Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation strategies.
- Experience with visual aids, PECS, Makaton or Zones of Regulation.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness).

- Ability to build trust and rapport with children and staff.
