Job Title: Part-Time KS1 Primary School Teacher
Location: Bolton Salary: MPS - UPS Depending On Experience Contract Type: Part-Time 3 days per week Start Date: January 2026 or ASAP
Job Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and committed Part-Time KS1 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Bolton. This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a nurturing environment and is looking for a flexible working pattern while continuing to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
- Plan and assess learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports pupil wellbeing and progress
- Use formative and summative assessment to inform planning and next steps
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with year group colleagues and support staff to ensure consistency and continuity
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and development
- Contribute to planning meetings and share best practice with the wider team
Professional Development
- Engage in ongoing CPD opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and pedagogy
- Reflect on teaching practice and respond positively to feedback
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and school policies
Preferable Experience
We are looking for a teacher who ideally brings:
- Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1
- Strong understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum and age-appropriate pedagogy
- Confidence in delivering phonics using a recognised scheme
- Experience using assessment for learning to support pupil progress
- A nurturing, inclusive approach to classroom management
- Flexibility and adaptability, particularly in a part-time role
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Evidence of recent CPD - Desirable
