Veritas Education is seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Specialist to join the Early Years and KS1 team at a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Islington. The Role
As the SEN Specialist for Early Years and KS1, you will:
- Provide targeted support for children with identified and emerging SEND, ensuring inclusive access to the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
- Work closely with the SENCo, Early Years Lead, and class teachers to design and implement effective support and intervention programmes.
- Deliver individual and small-group interventions tailored to specific needs.
- Model outstanding SEN practice and contribute to staff training and development.
- Support early identification, assessment, and progress tracking for children with additional needs.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Significant experience working with children with SEND, ideally within Early Years and/or KS1.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum, child development, and inclusive education approaches.
- Proven experience in planning and delivering high-quality interventions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN (e.g. Level 3+ Early Years, HLTA, SENDCo qualification, or equivalent).
