Speech and Language Therapist / Makaton Specialist - Primary SEN Provision Location: Newham, East London Start Date: ASAP or after October Half Term Pay: £100 - £130 per day Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Posted by: Veritas Education
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive primary SEN provision in Newham, seeking a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist or Makaton Specialist to support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a setting that values tailored interventions and child-centred support, making a real difference to young learners' development and confidence.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group speech and language interventions
- Use Makaton and other communication strategies to enhance access to the curriculum
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, speech delays, and developmental language disorders
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to develop effective support strategies
- Contribute to EHCP planning and reviews
Requirements:
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist or trained Makaton Specialist (Level 2+ desirable)
- Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education
