Teaching Assistant - SEN & Behaviour Support

Veritas Education is currently working with a well-regarded primary school in Redbridge to recruit an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour. This full-time role is available for an immediate start, though the school is willing to wait until after half term for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in primary education and behaviour support to make a real difference in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs
- Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO
- Supporting pupils across different year groups (EYFS-KS2) based on school needs
- Adapting learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils
- Supporting the creation of a safe and positive learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting (essential)
- Experience supporting children with SEN and managing challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Ability to work effectively within a team and take direction
- A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
