Type: Permanent or Temporary
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 per year
Hours: Full Time
The Role:
Veritas Education are working with a number of Special and Complex learning settings in the Sunderland area who are recruiting for permanent "Complex Care" support staff.
Throughout this role you will…
- Support a range of complex and severe learning, physical and medical needs for students aged from 5 - 19 years old.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene support, toilet support, mobility and medication administration.
- Work in unison with other support, teaching, medical and health care staff in providing a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment for all learners.
- Assist the class teacher and other specialist professionals in running accessible education throughout the day, this will be across lessons, physio sessions, hydro therapy classes and medical interventions.
- Be comfortable supporting a range of learners and working with severe and complex learning needs.
The complex needs settings Veritas Education work with specifically look out for applicants with previous care, residential, medical, nursing and SEN Support experience, across a variety of other settings and sectors. All great transferable skills a staff member can transition into a complex needs school setting.
