EYFS Teaching Assistant - SEN School - Hounslow
Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
We are currently recruiting for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Hounslow, supporting young children with a range of special educational needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in EYFS, nursery, childcare or SEN who wants to make a genuine difference to children's development, confidence and independence.
The successful candidate will be nurturing, adaptable and confident supporting children who may have Autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, developmental delays or other additional needs.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the EYFS setting.
Support children with a range of SEN and additional needs.
Build positive, trusting and nurturing relationships with pupils.
Support communication, social development, emotional regulation and independence.
Assist with play-based, sensory and structured learning activities.
Encourage children to participate and develop confidence in their learning.
Support early literacy, numeracy, communication and physical development.
Help children manage sensory and emotional needs throughout the school day.
Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, therapists and wider school team.
Follow individual learning and support plans.
Assist with personal care where required.
Help maintain a safe, calm and stimulating learning environment.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with EYFS or early years children.
Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs is highly desirable.
A patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a busy environment.
A genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Experience with Autism, speech and language needs or sensory needs would be beneficial.
A background in nursery, childcare, education, SEN, care or support work would be advantageous.
Valid Child and Adult DBS essential.
You don't necessarily need extensive experience in a specialist school. If you have strong EYFS experience and are passionate about supporting children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.
