Location: East Lancashire (Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington, Nelson, Colne and surrounding areas) Contract Type: Flexible Day-to-Day Supply Start Date: September 2026

Core Subject Specialists Required - East Lancashire

Veritas Education is currently recruiting passionate and knowledgeable Core Subject Specialists to work on a day-to-day supply basis across a range of secondary schools throughout East Lancashire from September.

We are looking for individuals with strong subject knowledge in English, Mathematics and Science who are keen to support secondary schools with short-term and daily cover requirements. Whether you are a qualified teacher, an ECT, a cover supervisor with subject specialism, or an experienced educator seeking flexibility, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Core Subject Specialist, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across your specialist subject area.
  • Provide high-quality cover in the absence of the regular class teacher.
  • Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Support students in developing their knowledge, skills and confidence.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups.
  • Promote high standards of achievement and student engagement.
  • The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold QTS, QTLS, a relevant degree, or significant experience within their specialist subject area.
  • Have experience working with secondary-aged students.
  • Possess strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Are flexible, adaptable and confident working in different school settings.
  • Have a passion for education and helping students achieve their potential.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
