Location: East Lancashire (Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington, Nelson, Colne and surrounding areas) Salary: £89 - £120 per day (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Flexible Day-to-Day Supply Start Date: September 2026
Secondary Teaching Assistants Required - East Lancashire
Veritas Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic, dedicated and adaptable Secondary Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis across a variety of secondary schools throughout East Lancashire from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, youth workers, support workers, or individuals with experience supporting young people who are looking to gain valuable school-based experience while making a real difference to students' learning and development.
The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students within the classroom across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
- Assist students with their learning, engagement and academic progress.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with additional learning needs where necessary.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, care or support setting.
- Are patient, proactive and passionate about supporting student success.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Have a flexible and professional approach to work.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
