Secondary Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term Role

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Employer: Veritas Education (on behalf of a partner secondary school)

About the Role

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people in their education and helping pupils achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students where required
  • Assist students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support classroom management and behaviour expectations
  • Work with teaching staff to implement learning strategies and interventions
  • Promote student engagement, confidence, and independence
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience working with young people in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting student progress
  • Has a positive and proactive approach to learning and development
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
