Veritas Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Wakefield area to recruit an ambitious and inspiring Head of Mathematics for a September start.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher or current middle leader who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the vision, curriculum, and outcomes for Mathematics across the school.

The Role

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Mathematics department
  • Drive high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages
  • Use data effectively to track progress and raise attainment
  • Inspire and support staff through coaching, mentoring, and CPD
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and strategic planning
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven track record of strong classroom practice in Mathematics
  • Experience of leading or contributing to departmental improvement
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • A passion for Mathematics and a commitment to student success
