Veritas Education is recruiting a SEND Teacher on behalf of a Secondary SEMH School in the Dorking area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
⚠️ Please note: The school is located in a remote area, therefore candidates will more than likely need to be drivers with access to their own vehicle.

SEND Teacher - Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEND and SEMH needs
- Create a calm, safe and structured learning environment
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt teaching strategies to support engagement and progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and external professionals
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) preferred
- Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH students (desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
- High levels of resilience, patience and flexibility
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Clear commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
