Sports Assistant / Ad‑Hoc PE Cover - Boys' Secondary School, Hounslow
Agency: Veritas Education Location: Hounslow, London Position: Sports Assistant / Ad‑Hoc PE Cover (Summer Term Only) Start Date: Summer Term 2025
Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a vibrant boys' secondary school in Hounslow. The school is seeking a flexible, proactive and energetic individual to support their PE department with ad‑hoc cover throughout the Summer Term.
The school ideally welcomes applications from qualified PE teachers (QTS), but is also open to unqualified teachers, experienced sports coaches and sports graduates with strong coaching skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ad‑hoc PE lesson cover across the Summer Term.
- Assist in delivering coaching sessions, warm‑ups and sport‑specific drills.
- Support students and staff during sports tournaments, fixtures and inter‑school events.
- Referee matches and assist with officiating duties.
- Set up, maintain and pack away PE equipment.
- Support fixture organisation: team sheets, equipment checks, logistics and risk assessments.
- Help with extracurricular and after‑school sports clubs.
Person Specification:
- Ideally a QTS-qualified PE teacher, however applications are welcomed from:
- Unqualified teachers
- Sports coaches
- Sports graduates
- Full UK driving licence (essential); minibus driving preferred.
- Experience coaching or supporting young people in sports settings.
- Organised, adaptable, reliable and able to work both independently and within a team.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and passionate about sport and youth development.
