Are you a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher with QTS? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Tonbridge. This role offers the opportunity to teach and inspire learners with a diverse range of additional needs, helping them engage with the Science curriculum in a meaningful, accessible, and creative way.
About the School
This well-resourced SEN school supports students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and mild to moderate learning difficulties. The team prides itself on providing a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment where young people can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
As the school's SEN Science Teacher, you will:
- Deliver differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of SEN learning profiles
- Break down complex scientific concepts into accessible, engaging content
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in the classroom
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Contribute to whole‑school activities, enrichment programmes, and cross‑curricular projects
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
- Experience teaching Science at KS3/KS4 (SEN experience highly desirable)
- A flexible, creative, and student‑centred approach
- Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy and consistency
- Passion for supporting students with additional needs
- Ability to tailor curriculum content and assessment to individual learners
