Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will support pupils with communication, language and speech needs, working closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions and enhance outcomes for our learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions for individual pupils and small groups.
- Conduct assessments to identify communication needs and develop bespoke therapy plans.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to embed communication targets into classroom practice.
- Provide training, guidance and support to school staff and parents on effective communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews where applicable.
- Attend relevant meetings, including multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development sessions.
- Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans in line with pupil needs and best practice.
Person Specification Essential:
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (HCPC registered).
- Experience working with children and young people with a range of communication needs.
- Strong understanding of child development, language disorders and therapy approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development.
