Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support (Headingley, Leeds)
Start: January 2026 Location: Headingley, Leeds Role Type: Full-time (term time only)
Are you nurturing, energetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We're looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with SEN (Autism) in a welcoming school in the Headingley area.
About the Role
You will be supporting a child who is working at a lower age range, providing help both in and out of the classroom to ensure they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Your role will involve:
- Building a warm, trusting relationship with the child
- Supporting learning through play, outdoor activities, and structured games
- Providing consistent behaviour suport and setting clear, firm boundaries
- Helping the child regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to tailor support
