Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-organised 2 form entry primary school in Islington for an experienced KS1 Teacher to take on a Year 1 class. This role requires a confident practitioner and is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
The Role:
Full class teaching responsibility for a Year 1 cohort
Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum and phonics expectations
Managing behaviour effectively and creating a positive, structured learning environment
Supporting pupils with some SEN, ensuring learning is accessible and inclusive
Using ongoing assessment to track progress and inform planning
Working closely with the parallel class teacher and KS1 team
Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS and have solid experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
Be confident in behaviour management and setting clear expectations
Have a good understanding of supporting children with SEN in a mainstream setting
Be organised, resilient, and adaptable
Work well as part of a collaborative team
Have post-ECT teaching experience (essential)
