Year 1 Teacher Location: Primary School in the Heart of Wakefield
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a vibrant primary school in the heart of Wakefield. The primary school is part of a dynamic and supportive trust, the school is committed to delivering an exceptional education and creating an inspiring learning environment for our students.
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the learning experience of our young learners.
- Proven experience working in Key Stage 1, with a strong understanding of Year 1 curriculum and development.
- A solid background in teaching phonics, with experience in delivering high-quality phonics instruction that helps children develop strong foundational reading skills.
- A passion for creating engaging, inclusive, and effective lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants and senior leadership, to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Implement effective phonics teaching strategies, helping children to develop reading and writing skills.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing timely feedback and interventions when necessary.
- Foster a nurturing and positive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
- Work closely with colleagues within the school and across the trust to share best practices and improve teaching and learning.
