Veritas Education are delighted to be working with a warm and welcoming one form entry Catholic primary school in Islington, seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Teacher / Early Years Lead to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated practitioner who is committed to nurturing the development and learning of young children in a supportive, values-driven environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead the Nursery provision and take responsibility for planning, delivering, and monitoring high-quality early years education. As the Early Years Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the EYFS curriculum, supporting staff and children, and ensuring that every pupil thrives academically, socially, and spiritually.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver stimulating, creative, and child-centred lessons across the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception).
- Lead the Early Years setting, providing guidance and support to teaching assistants.
- Monitor and assess children's development, adapting learning experiences to meet individual needs.
- Promote the school's Catholic ethos through nurturing pastoral care and inclusive practice.
- Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider school community.
- Ensure the Nursery environment is safe, welcoming, and inspiring for young learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Early Years teaching.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating an EYFS setting (preferred).
- A deep understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- The ability to create an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
- A commitment to supporting children's spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development in line with Catholic values.
