The Role
Veritas Education is delighted to partner with a lively and supportive primary school in Islington, seeking an engaging and committed Reception Teacher to join their early years team. You will lead the Reception class, shape a vibrant learning environment and collaborate closely with staff, families and the leadership team to ensure each child thrives in their first year at primary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Reception (EYFS) lessons that excite and engage young learners.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom where children feel safe, valued and motivated.
- Track children's development against the EYFS framework and use assessment to shape next steps in learning.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers and staff to support children's social, emotional and academic development.
- Contribute to the life of the school: assemblies, parent events, team planning meetings.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with recent experience of teaching in early years (Reception) in a mainstream primary school.
- Strong understanding of EYFS pedagogy and the developmental needs of five-year-olds.
- Warm, energetic and creative teaching style with the ability to make learning fun and accessible.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and team-working skills.
- A proactive, reflective practitioner who seeks continual professional development and contributes to whole-school improvement.
