HLTA / Pastoral Teaching Assistant, ASAP - Bolton
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong pastoral focus to join a vibrant primary school in Bolton. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's wellbeing and academic progress through small group support, targeted interventions, and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver structured small group interventions to support emotional wellbeing, social skills, and academic engagement.
- Lead pastoral workshops and activities that promote resilience, self-esteem, and positive behaviour.
- Act as a key adult for vulnerable pupils, providing consistent emotional support and mentoring.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for pupils.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to individual support plans and pastoral reports.
- Support classroom learning when required, maintaining a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Preferable Experience- Previous experience in a pastoral or HLTA role within a UK primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, emotional regulation strategies, and trauma-informed practice.
- Ability to lead interventions and workshops independently with confidence and creativity.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or those facing barriers to learning.
