English Teacher (KS4) Salary: £180 - £240+ per day Contract Type: Fulltime Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm Location: Hillingdon
About the Role We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher (KS4) to join an innovative and supportive learning environment. Our school works with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often facing behavioural challenges that require patience, empathy, and adaptability. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons for KS4 students with a range of abilities and SEMH needs.
- Adapt teaching approaches to support students' emotional wellbeing and maintain positive behaviour in the classroom.
- Provide consistent structure, clear expectations, and constructive feedback to support student learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, celebrating achievements and addressing barriers to learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to meet the holistic needs of learners.
Person Specification
- Qualified teacher with experience teaching English at KS4, ideally within SEMH or alternative provision settings.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students who may have faced previous academic or behavioural challenges.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with empathy, patience, and resilience.
- Committed to supporting diverse learners and creating an inclusive, nurturing environment.
- Flexible, creative, and proactive in addressing individual student needs.
