About the School
We are a specialist early years setting in Westminster providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 15 months to 5 years, many of whom have additional needs relating to communication, social interaction, or neurodiversity.
Role Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with speech, language, and social communication difficulties.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is creative, nurturing, and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of children with SEN.
- Support children's communication, social, and emotional development through play-based and structured learning.
- Work closely with therapists and support staff to implement individual education and care plans (IEPs).
- Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, ensuring all children are supported to achieve their goals.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through nurturing and inclusive practice.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times.
Person Specification / Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Education Studies or equivalent related degree
- Proven experience teaching or supporting children with SEN, ideally within early years or primary settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- High levels of patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, or communication and language needs
- Knowledge of early intervention or play-based learning approaches
- Experience working in specialist or alternative education settings
