Veritas Education is currently working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Islington that is seeking a behavioural/SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role will be focused on supporting pupils in a mixed Year 3/4 class, particularly those with behavioural needs and social, emotional or special educational needs (SEN).
The ideal candidate will be confident, resilient, and experienced in working with children who require tailored behaviour strategies and additional classroom support.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural or SEN needs
- Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and helping pupils remain focused and engaged
- Supporting social and emotional development and building positive relationships
- Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring a safe, structured learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with behavioural challenges or SEN (essential)
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour
- Strong classroom experience and ability to adapt to different situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or relevant experience
This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP, with the potential to lead to a permanent role for the right person.
