Veritas Education is working closely with a number of secondary schools across Wakefield to recruit Behaviour Support Workers to provide targeted support to students who may display challenging behaviour or require additional guidance in the classroom.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them to re-engage with learning and achieve their potential.
The Role:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
- Help manage behaviour and promote positive choices in line with school policies
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to implement behaviour strategies
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and social development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people in an educational, care, or youth work setting
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs or behavioural challenges
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
