Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Havering area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and looking to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other staff to deliver tailored support and interventions
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or care setting
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification, or psychology/education background) are desirable but not essential
