The Role: As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers within the classroom. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adapting learning materials accordingly.
- Assisting in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and have the following qualities:
- Experience working in a secondary school environment is desirable, but not essential.
- A genuine interest in supporting young people's learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is advantageous but not required.
