About the Role
Veritas Education are working with a thriving secondary school in Wakefield who are seeking a dedicated and proactive Intervention Support Assistant. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential, particularly in core subjects such as English, Maths and Science.
As an Intervention Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions for small groups and individual students who require additional support with their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and small group intervention sessions in key subject areas.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and building confidence in the classroom.
- Work alongside teachers and the SEN team to plan, deliver, and monitor progress of intervention programmes.
- Provide feedback on student progress and contribute to assessment records.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and motivation among students.
- Support the wider school community as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with secondary school-aged students is highly desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths, or Science.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
- Graduates considering teaching as a career are strongly encouraged to apply.
