About the Role:
A vibrant and inclusive primary/secondary school in the heart of Haringey is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist in the development of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support the class teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Track and report progress to teaching staff and parents
- Use a variety of strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certification) are desirable but not essential
