Overview:
An alternative provision in West London is seeking an experienced Science Technician to support KS3 and KS4 Science. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory support and experience working directly with students, including those with behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain lab equipment and materials for science practicals.
- Support Science teaching staff with in-class activities and technical setup.
- Assist in managing student behaviour and promoting engagement during lessons.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained in the lab environment.
- Monitor and order stock, ensuring safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician in a secondary setting.
- Knowledge of the KS3/KS4 Science curriculum.
- Experience supporting students with behavioural or additional needs.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Understanding of lab safety protocols.
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
