Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are working with a well-regarded SEN school in Lambeth that is looking for an empathetic, proactive, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
???? About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this SEN setting, you'll work alongside experienced staff and external professionals to provide personalised support that meets the individual needs of students. You'll help create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for every child.
????️ Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, in and out of the classroom
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and structured routines
Implement behaviour support strategies to encourage positive outcomes
Help students build confidence, communication skills and independence
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to support learning plans
Provide personal care support when required (training can be provided)
Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing
Support inclusion and help maintain a safe and nurturing school environment
✅ Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working in schools, with special needs, in care, mental health, or psychology-related fields
A calm, patient and understanding nature
Good communication skills and a team-player attitude
A strong interest in making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be happy to apply for one
