Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs? We're currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and forward-thinking SEMH school in Bromley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced, enthusiastic, and resilient, ready to support students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
???? Your Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students, teachers, and other professionals to provide targeted support and interventions. You'll play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and personal development across the school.
???? Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students
Support teaching staff in managing challenging behaviour in class
Develop positive relationships to improve student engagement and well-being
Help students develop coping strategies, social skills, and self-regulation techniques
Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies as required
Maintain accurate behaviour records and contribute to care/support plans
Assist in creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all pupils
✅ Requirements:
Proven experience working in schools, with challenging behaviour, or in mental health/psychology settings
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong understanding of SEMH and behavioural needs
Resilient, calm and committed under pressure
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - or willingness to obtain a new one
