Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Blackburn. Starting in September 2025, this is a full-time, permanent role working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Reception who has Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, tailored 1:1 support for a child in Reception with SEN/SEMH needs
- Assist children in accessing learning activities and managing emotions and behaviour
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO
- Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Support children with personal, social and emotional development
Requirements:
- A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH, ideally in Early Years or Key Stage 1
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to helping every child succeed
