About Us
Veritas are working with a number of schools across Leeds who are looking for Early Years Support Workers to support 1:1 and in classroom. Some of the children are not accessing full-time education yet so the role will be part-time SEN support and part time in classroom support.
The Role
As an Early Years Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning, development, and well-being of children aged 0-5. You will work closely with early years practitioners and teaching staff to deliver high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Observe and record children's progress, contributing to their learning journeys.
- Assist with care routines including mealtimes, toileting, and hygiene.
- Support children with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in all activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about early childhood education and development
- Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work on your own initiative
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Degree level or have specific childcare related qualification
- Looking for a career in education, considering teaching or to gain further experience working with children
