Moving and Handling Trained SEN Support
We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEN school based in Leeds who are needing several Full Time and Part Time Moving and Handling trained SEN support assistants to start as soon as possible/September 2022.
The school is a SILC based provision where they provide education and care for students aged from early years to post 16+. The school supports learners and provides specialised care for various special educational and complex needs, such as:
- PMLD
- SLD
- Autism and Downs Syndrome
- Physical Disabilities
- Personal Care, Peg Feeding and Speech/Language Disabilities
- Multi-Sensory Impairments
The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has previous experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, learning and physical disabilities. They have previous experience when it comes to providing care for a child, whether that is supporting in personal care, peg feeding or the safe moving and handling of the learner.
The school is needing candidates who are happy to work alongside and support students from the early years stage up to 16+ years old and be flexible when it comes to supporting in different classes with different needs and demands. They should be able to approach this role with a supportive, kind, caring and compassionate mindset to help provide the best educational care for the learner.
Essential requirements for this role:
- DBS on the Up-Date Service
- Previous Experience as an SEN Support Worker
- Moving and Handling Trained (Within the last 12 Months/Certificate Proof)
- Previous SEN experience (In Care, Support Worker or Schools)
