Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Monday-Friday (Full-Time - 8:30am-3:30pm) -Temporary -Term Time Only

Salary: £140-£200 a day

Start Date: Immediate Start

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working in a special school environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teacher to join one of our partner vibrant and inclusive special needs primary school.

A primary special school in Bradford are looking for a SEN teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school provides education to primary aged children with complex needs, medical needs, special educational needs, and challenging behaviours.

Teacher Information: You will be working with children in a primary special school. The children have a range of SEN, PMLD and challenging behaviours. You will be adaptable and will be able to deliver engaging and creative lessons for the children in line with their Educational Health Care Plans.

You will be working in a highly inspired environment teaching the pupils key life skills. This is an area where a lot of the pupils eagerly engage and can express their creative side. As the teacher it is vital to focus the pupil's attention on the task at hand but also allow the pupils to use their imagination to their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, learning difficulties, complex needs, and disabilities.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes inclusivity, independence, and growth.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support and interventions for students.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure individualised learning goals are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of student development, achievements, and behaviour.
  • Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE with relevant experience working with students with SEN.
  • Proven experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, complex needs, and disabilities.
  • Previous experience working in a special school setting is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in special education.
  • Safeguarding training is essential, although this can be offered by Veritas.
  • Level 2 Team Teach training is essential, although this can be offered by Veritas.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced child and adult workforce DBS upon registration
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK
