Veritas Education are working with a secondary school in Leeds seeking a dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team for the new academic year in September.
This full-time role involves supporting teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will lead small group interventions, deliver lessons in the absence of the teacher, and provide targeted support to students in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering planned lessons and learning activities
Supporting student progress through tailored interventions
Assisting with classroom and behaviour management
Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment
Liaising with teaching staff and SEN teams
Requirements:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification
Experience working in a secondary school
Good behaviour management and communication skills
A proactive, flexible approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

- Experience
- Must have ample experience as a teaching assistant and be a qualified H.L.T.A. Must be able to take the lead in class in the absence of the class teacher. Must be used to assisting up to KS 4, KS 5 would be advantageous. Must have experience managing difficult behavior.
