The Role
Veritas Education are working with a range of SEN schools, PRUs and Alternative Learning Provisions, who are looking for experienced Team Teach trained Inclusion Support Workers to join their teams.
As an Inclusion Support Worker, you will support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour.
You will play an important role in creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment, helping learners develop positive behaviours, confidence and independence.
The role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, think on their feet and respond appropriately to challenging situations, while building positive and meaningful relationships with learners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent support to learners with SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs.
Implement appropriate behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Support learners both inside and outside of the classroom.
Help create a safe, structured and positive learning environment.
Build trusting and nurturing relationships with learners and young people.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, managers and other professionals.
Follow individual behaviour plans, risk assessments and school policies.
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and personal development.
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging or high-risk behaviour.

Requirements
Team Teach qualification gained within the last 2 years - Essential.
Previous experience supporting learners with SEN, SEMH/BESD and challenging behaviour - Essential.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - Essential (support and advice available if required).
Experience working within an SEN school, PRU, Alternative Provision or similar setting is desirable.
Good understanding of behaviour management and classroom support strategies.
Ability to build positive, trustworthy relationships with learners and colleagues.
Knowledge of basic classroom learning strategies and the ability to support the National Curriculum is desirable.
