Veritas Education is recruiting Autism Support Assistants to work within a highly regarded specialist school in Stockton-on-Tees. The provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and offers a nurturing environment where every learner is encouraged to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with immediate starts and genuine opportunities to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The Role
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism
- Help learners access lessons and engage positively in school life
- Support communication, emotional regulation and social development
- Use positive behaviour strategies and structured routines
- Work closely with teaching staff and wider professionals to support individual learning plans
- Encourage independence and celebrate progress, no matter how small
