Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school seeking a Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident Teaching Assistant to support pupils in upper Key Stage 2, helping them prepare for the transition to secondary school while making the most of their final years in primary education.
The Role
Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide general classroom support across a Year 5/6 class, assisting pupils with their learning and helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Duties will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum
- Assisting pupils with Maths and English activities
- Working with small groups and individual children who require additional support
- Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons
- Supporting behaviour management and promoting positive choices
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience
- Assisting with classroom preparation and resources
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Possesses a good knowledge of Maths and English
- Is confident supporting pupils across Upper Key Stage 2
- Has strong behaviour management skills
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Is reliable, proactive and able to use their initiative
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
