Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant
Ribble Valley Full-Time | Term Time Only
Veritas Education are currently working with a welcoming primary school in the Ribble Valley that is looking to appoint a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support children within their Early Years setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young children thrive and enjoys building positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
The role will involve supporting children with additional needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual targets.
The Role
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within an Early Years environment
- Providing tailored support based on individual needs and learning plans
- Encouraging children's social, emotional and communication development
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals
- Creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment
- Assisting with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with SEN, either within education, childcare, care, health or a similar setting
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach
- Confidence building positive relationships with children, families and staff
- Understanding of Early Years development and learning through play
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
