Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 or Level 3)

Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities | Wakefield (WF3)

Are you an experienced Early Years Practitioner looking for a role where you can make a real difference while being part of a nursery that shares your values?

We are recruiting for a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a wonderful independent nursery in the WF3 area of Wakefield. With both full-time and part-time opportunities available, this is a fantastic chance to become part of a setting that is passionate about children's wellbeing, staff development, and building strong relationships with families.

This unique nursery offers much more than a traditional childcare setting. With its own Forest School programme and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn through meaningful outdoor experiences. The nursery believes in fostering a love of nature from an early age, creating opportunities for children to develop confidence, independence, and curiosity in the world around them.

What truly sets this nursery apart is its people. Staff are valued as individuals, supported in their professional development, and encouraged to bring their ideas and creativity to the setting. Families are at the heart of everything they do, creating a warm and inclusive community where children feel safe, happy, and ready to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
  • Support children's learning and development through engaging indoor and outdoor activities
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of nature through Forest School experiences
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish
  • Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards at all times
  • We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
  • Has experience working within a nursery or early years setting
  • Is passionate about child development and learning through play
  • Enjoys spending time outdoors and embracing nature-based learning
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Brings a positive, caring, and proactive approach to their work
  • What's On Offer?

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • A supportive and welcoming management team
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities
  • The chance to work in a respected independent nursery
  • Access to a unique Forest School environment
  • A workplace that genuinely values its staff, families, and the wider community
  • The opportunity to be part of a nursery making a positive impact on both children and the environment
  • If you're looking for a role where you can inspire young minds, embrace outdoor learning, and join a nursery that truly cares about its children, families, and staff, we'd love to hear from you.
