- Librarian with a Literacy Focus Are you passionate about reading, literacy and inspiring young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Librarian to join a vibrant secondary school community in Haringey.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who believes in the power of reading and wants to play a key role in developing a strong culture of literacy throughout the school. Working closely with senior leaders and the whole-school literacy team, you will help create an engaging and inclusive library environment while supporting students to become confident, lifelong readers
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school library, supporting literacy interventions and helping students access a wide range of resources. Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting reading for pleasure and fostering a positive library culture.
- Supporting and delivering literacy intervention programmes.
- Organising and running a mobile library service across the school.
- Monitoring reading assessments and supporting the analysis of literacy data.
- Managing library resources, cataloguing new stock and maintaining accurate records.
- Creating engaging displays and supporting literacy-themed events.
- Assisting students and staff with library and digital learning resources.
- Supervising students in the library and supporting homework club provision.
- Contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives, including World Book Day celebrations and author events
